Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center was established in 1956 as one of the original nine Miners Memorial Hospital Association facilities. The 358-bed acute care hospital primarily serves Perry, Knott, Fletcher, Leslie, Harlan, Bell, Knox, Clay, Owsley and Breathitt counties in Kentucky. It also operates the adjacent Hazard ARH Psychiatric Center, which has been designated as the acute mental health facility for a 21-county region in Kentucky. Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center offers a variety of services including wound care, which utilizes hyperbaric oxygen therapy, dermatology, women’s health, bariatrics, and robotic surgery. The hospital campus is also home to one of ARH’s two Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs), which are designed for patients with medical conditions requiring highly specialized care for more than 25 days. Additionally, area residents in need of cancer care can stay close to home for treatments at the Hazard ARH Cancer Center. The hospital, a Level IV Trauma Center, operates an accredited Breast Center and has been designated as a DNV Primary Stroke Center.
